NURSERY REVEAL

I feel like I have to reintroduce myself since it's been a long time since I've done this, but something came over me and I wanted to start sharing what I've been up to the past year. I've definitely put my watercolor painting on the back burner and have been focusing on my growing family, but I've continued to express my creativity throughout my house and its been super fun!

I'm going to start by sharing the work I've done to create the perfect space for my little man! I'm expecting him any day now...  so hopefully he comes soon to enjoy the nest I made for him. In the meantime, soak up all the decor and hopefully get inspired!

Wall Color: I chose a cool light gray color to help the crib and other white accessories pop in the room. It took a while to find the right color because initially I was dead set on painting the entire room NAVY! I tried at least six different blue hues and finally came to the decision that this room didn't get enough natural light during the day to be able to withstand the dark navy colors. That's when I decided gray would be my next best choice. I feel like a total dummy, but I forgot to save the exact color that I chose to paint the room... SORRY! If anyone asks I will go out of my way to find out :) But for now I'm waaay to pregnant and swollen to move my butt!

Rug: This rug from Rugs Direct was my inspo for all the colors in his room. I wanted to select a rug that he wouldn't outgrow. I became obsessed with the geometric design along with the navy and mustard colors. This was one of my biggest purchases by far but with the help of a designer friend's discount I was able to get a really good deal. I also found subscribing to websites emails can get you a pretty good discount too so don't buy full price!

Crib: Other than the rug, this was the first purchase I made for the room. I fell in love with this Lolly 3-in-1 covertibe crib in white and natural from Babyletto, which easily converts into a toddler bed when your child is ready for it. All their cribs are in a decent price range so check them out!

Bedding: I knew I wanted crib sheets and a crib skirt with an indigo wash so I started searching on Etsy and I came across Indigo Rose Shop. I love the style of her fabrics and personally requested her to do a custom crib skirt. She was incredible about making sure the fade was exactly what I was looking for and sent it within a week! I also ordered one of her crib sheets and I couldn't be happier with the combo.

Painting: After attempting to paint an original piece of art turned out to be an epic fail, I ended up going with this little running monkey! It 100% made me laugh, and I thought it was the cutest little addition to add some sweetness to his room. The Animal Print Shop has TONS of different animals to choose from so definitely check them out.

Pillows: I mixed all the crib pillows from varies shops including Anthropologie and Danielle Oakley Shop. This took me a while to find the right combination, but I mixed some neutrals with the mud cloth fabrics to get more of a boho look.

Light Fixture: I fell in love with the exposed Edison bulbs and knew it was a must to incorporate this light fixture into the nursery. I found this piece thanks to one of my good friends who had an eye out for some fun pieces! One tip if you're decorating a room is to share all your ideas with friends because they were my best resource for finding fun pieces. This antique gold bulb chandelier is from World Market, and I must say they kill it when it comes to funky, unique lights, both floor lamps and pendant lighting.

Armoire/ Changing Table: This piece got me SO excited when I found it at a local vintage furniture shop. Twigs and  Twine in Phoenix, focuses on restoring mid century modern pieces of furniture, and also creates beautiful one of a kind pieces. I was going back and forth on whether or not I wanted to custom make a piece of furniture for his room or to buy this one. I'm happy I decided to buy this chest of drawers because it is super long and has enough room for a changing table and nicknacks. Definitely check them out if you are looking for a unique statement piece for any room in your house.

Wall Art: It was love at first sight when a friend sent me a picture of this hand dipped tapestry from Whisker Row. I don't think I need to say anything else besides to check this Etsy shop out because they have beautiful wall hangings in almost every color you can imagine!
